Update on Bethel AME Reparations
Last month, Pastor Dale Snyder from Bethel AME shared that Bethel plans to keep the church at its current location and instead use their original land in the Lower Hill District, returned in April by the Pittsburgh Penguins, to build a 128-unit apartment complex and daycare center. Read more here.

The ELCA Truth & Healing Movement is providing opportunities to learn the true history and current realities of Indigenous people. It is these truths, truths that have been ignored by most for hundreds of years, that will bring healing for both Indigenous people and non-Indigenous people. ELCA Task Force: Human Sexuality - Gift and Trust Study Process
In 2022, the Churchwide Assembly authorized a review of the Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust social statement. A task force will begin working on the review in 2024, and applications to be a member are currently open until January 31, 2024.
